Bangalore: New Relic, the Intelligent Observability company, has announced the appointment of Rob Newell as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ). A seasoned technologist and sales leader, Newell brings more than two decades of experience in technical software sales and leadership across the APJ region, alongside deep expertise in observability and digital transformation.
Newell previously served as Group Vice President of Solutions Consulting and Technical Sales APJ at New Relic, where he played a pivotal role in driving regional strategy and customer success. Prior to joining New Relic, he held senior leadership roles at Salesforce, IntraLinks, and ConnXion Limited, where he led high-performing teams focused on enterprise cloud and solutions engineering.
“With deep expertise in the observability space and established relationships with many of our valued Asia-Pacific customers, I couldn’t be more thrilled to have Rob lead the team through our next phase of growth,” said Lauren Nemeth, Chief Revenue Officer at New Relic. “Asia Pacific is a critical growth market for New Relic. From traditional enterprises looking to modernise, to digital natives requiring scale and agility, the New Relic intelligent observability platform is perfectly positioned to help organisations reach their engineering and business goals. I look forward to seeing our continued success across the region under Rob’s leadership.”
Newell’s elevation follows a broader regional leadership push by New Relic, including recent appointments such as Denis Maguire as Senior Director of Enterprise Sales for Australia and New Zealand, and Manivannan Govindan as Senior Director of Enterprise Sales Asia, reinforcing the company’s commitment to its Asia-Pacific customers.
“I am excited and honoured to take on the role of Senior Vice President and General Manager for Asia-Pacific,” said Rob Newell. “The Asia-Pacific region has some of the highest levels of AI adoption in the world, so the need for intelligent observability–especially in the age of agentic AI–to support innovation and help organisations drive real business outcomes has never been greater. I’m proud of the incredibly strong customer relationships that the team has built across the region and I look forward to building upon that success as we enter our next stage of growth.”
The appointment comes on the heels of continued product innovation from New Relic, including the recent launch of its reimagined Partner Program and over 20 new AI-powered innovations and integrations designed to maximise business uptime through the New Relic Intelligent Observability Platform. These advancements position New Relic as a mission-critical partner for organisations aiming to scale with resilience and insight in an AI-first world.
