Mumbai: India’s Panorama Studios has entered into a major multi-film partnership with Malayalam cinema star Nivin Pauly, marking one of the largest production deals in the history of the Malayalam film industry. The collaboration will see the studio produce a slate of Malayalam-language feature films with a combined investment of approximately INR 100 crore.
Under the agreement, the films will be produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak on behalf of Panorama Studios, with Nivin Pauly taking on a dual role as lead actor and producer. The planned slate will span multiple genres and is aimed at audiences across India as well as international markets.
Panorama Studios brings a strong legacy of commercially successful Hindi-language films, including franchises such as Drishyam, Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Raid, along with titles like Shaitaan. Since its inception with Vishal Bhardwaj’s Omkara, the studio has garnered over 50 industry awards and currently has Drishyam 3 in development.
Nivin Pauly is widely regarded as one of Malayalam cinema’s most bankable stars, known for balancing commercial success with content-driven storytelling. He rose to prominence with Thattathin Marayathu in 2012, followed by acclaimed performances in Bangalore Days and 1983. His 2015 release Premam became one of the highest-grossing Malayalam films of all time. Pauly has also made his mark as a producer through Pauly Jr. Pictures, backing projects such as Action Hero Biju, in addition to starring in films like Kayamkulam Kochunni and Sakhavu.
The actor is currently enjoying a strong commercial resurgence with the supernatural comedy Sarvam Maya, released on December 25, which has crossed INR 100 crore at the global box office, becoming the first film of his career to reach that milestone. Over the years, Pauly has received multiple accolades, including Kerala State Film Awards, Filmfare Awards South, Kerala Film Critics Association Awards and SIIMA Awards.
The partnership signals Panorama Studios’ strategic expansion into Malayalam-language cinema, reflecting the growing national and international demand for South Indian films. By combining Panorama’s production scale and distribution capabilities with Pauly’s market appeal and strong script sensibilities, the collaboration aims to create commercially viable, content-rich films with wide reach.
Specific details regarding individual projects, including directors, writers and release timelines, are yet to be announced.
