MUMBAI: The movement that began with Danish Sait’s call to “boycott mediocre pizza” has a conclusion. Papa Johns has officially opened its doors in Bengaluru, and Danish himself has given his stamp of approval.

In a new launch film, Danish walks into the first Papa Johns store carrying the same scepticism that once sparked a citywide debate. One bite of the 72-hour proofed, never-frozen dough topped with 100 percent real mozzarella and fresh vegetables, and he is instantly converted.

Danish’s verdict: “Now just like everything in namma Bengaluru, pizza is also awesome.”

The launch evening brought the city together for a celebration of good food, great energy and plenty of pizza pride. Food critics, creators and pizza enthusiasts joined the event, sharing their first bites and reactions. The experience included live pizza-making counters, fresh ingredient showcases, Bengaluru-inspired photo corners and a cheese-pull challenge that filled social media stories through the night.

Influencers and foodies summed up the mood of the evening Between shared laughs and cheese pulls, many agreed that Bengaluru finally has a pizza that lives up to its vibe. Leading the celebration was Danish Sait, who was present at the launch and was thrilled to see the movement come full circle, from #BoycottMediocrePizza to #IduAwesome. His excitement set the tone for the evening as guests celebrated Papa Johns’ arrival in the city, praising the freshness of the pizzas and the soft, flavourful crust that captured the true spirit of Bengaluru.

With its focus on never-frozen dough, clean-label toppings and 100 percent real mozzarella, Papa Johns has set a new standard for pizza in Bengaluru. The brand brings premium quality at everyday prices, introducing a pizza that matches the city’s love for authenticity and flavour.

Tapan Vaidya, Group CEO, PJP Investments Group, said, “Bengaluru has always been a city that celebrates authenticity and great taste. Launching Papa Johns here reflects that spirit. Every pizza is made with fresh, never-frozen dough, real mozzarella and carefully selected ingredients that bring out true flavour. This launch is a commitment to serving the city the quality it deserves and the flavour it connects with.”

From the first #BoycottMediocrePizza post to a full house on launch night, the movement has come full circle. With Better Ingredients and Better Pizza now in Bengaluru, the city’s boycott of mediocrity has ended with a slice worth celebrating.
