Gurugram: Prabhvir Sahmey, one of the most respected names in India’s digital advertising and adtech industry, has stepped down from his role as Senior Director at Samsung Ads. Monday, June 30, 2025, will be his last day in office.
Sahmey spearheaded Samsung Ads’ Connected TV (CTV) advertising business across India and Southeast Asia, playing a pivotal role in establishing it as a serious contender in the region’s fast-growing CTV landscape. During his tenure, he led strategic partnerships across FMCG, e-commerce, auto, and QSR categories, and championed innovations such as Automatic Content Recognition (ACR) to drive accurate, privacy-compliant measurement.
With a career spanning over 15 years, Sahmey has held senior roles at Google—where he helped launch DV360 in India—GroupM, and Tata Interactive, contributing significantly to the evolution of India’s digital and programmatic advertising ecosystem.
Responding to a query from MediaNews4U, Sahmey confirmed that June 30 will be his last day in office. He added that he is yet to decide his next move and will be taking a short break to reflect and explore progressive opportunities aligned with his experience across adtech, media, and digital transformation.
His departure comes at a crucial time for the CTV sector in India, which is witnessing accelerated growth with rising smart TV adoption and increasing advertiser interest.
