Mumbai: Praveen Kumar has taken on a new role at JioStar as Senior Vice President – Business Head, Sports Digital & LTV. He announced the move in a LinkedIn post, writing, “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Senior Vice President – Business Head Sports Digital & LTV at JioStar!”
Kumar joins JioStar after a successful stint at GroupM, where he most recently served as Head – Trading, Partnerships and Sports since June 2023. Before that, he was Vice President – National Trading Head at GroupM-Essence, a role he held from 2019.
Over the course of his career, Kumar has also worked with leading organisations such as Amazon, Mindshare and Madison, gaining deep experience across media investment, partnerships, digital strategy and client leadership.
A seasoned media and marketing professional, Kumar brings expertise in account management, media planning and buying, digital marketing, digital advertising and brand management. He has worked across multiple functions — spanning client leadership, business strategy and investment — and across diverse markets.
At GroupM, Kumar led national mandates for marquee brands including Google, Britannia, Airtel, Flipkart, Rapido, Livspace, Wakefit, Games24x7, Zee5 and Vedantu, working across categories such as technology, payments, e-commerce, FMCG, telecom and startups.
In his new role at JioStar, Kumar will be responsible for driving the company’s sports digital business and long-term value (LTV) strategy, as the network sharpens its focus on digital sports consumption and monetisation.
