Mumbai: Multiplex operator PVR INOX has announced the launch of ‘Cine Career’, in association with Timbuckdo a Student Gig platform. This programme is designed to offer students an immersive, on-ground learning experience into the world of cinema operations, film distribution, and the business behind the big screen. The initiative marks a pioneering step in transforming film education from theory-based learning into practical, real-world exposure.

The programme aims to bridge the gap between education and employability by offering students hands-on experience inside actual cinema operations, covering customer experience, cinema floor management, box office processes, F&B operations, safety protocols, and essential workplace skills.

With structured modules, supervised deployment, daily assessments, and a professional certification, the Cine Career program prepares students for careers across hospitality, entertainment, retail operations, and service industries.

As part of this pilot initiative, PVR INOX is opening the doors for students to go beyond the audience perspective and experience how a film actually reaches the big screen. With this launch, PVR INOX becomes the first exhibition chain in India to offer an industry-driven, experiential learning platform that blends academic insight with real-time operational exposure. The program will commence in Bengaluru then moving to other cities, giving students in the city the first opportunity to learn inside a fully functioning multiplex environment.

TimBuckDo, a student-focussed gig discovery platform, with this partnership with PVR INOX brings industry-grade skills into the mainstream college experience. As a platform that has always championed real-world exposure over theoretical learning, TimBuckDo sees Cine Career as a powerful extension of its mission to make college students truly job-ready. By integrating PVR INOX’s operational excellence with TimBuckDo’s gig-based learning model, the collaboration ensures that students don’t just learn about work, they experience it in a live environment. This partnership helps students develop discipline, communication skills, customer handling ability, operational awareness, and the confidence needed to perform better in any frontline, service, operations, or hospitality role. Cine Career transforms the typical gig into a structured skill-building opportunity, giving students a meaningful advantage as they step into internships, first jobs, and long-term careers.

Through Cine Career, participants will shadow the journey of a film long after the cameras stop rolling, discovering how a title is acquired, positioned, promoted, and finally brought to audiences across the country. They will unpack the mechanics that shape footfalls, understand the science behind show layouts and programming, and observe how cinema teams respond to real-time audience behaviour and box-office trends.

The initiative offers two structured formats designed to suit different levels of interest:

● Foundation Track — 4 Days | Rs. 999

An introductory experience crafted for students and movie lovers who want to discover how cinemas function behind the scenes.
‘
● Advanced Track — 7 Days | Rs. 1499

A deeper, more intensive format ideal for those seeking long-term exposure, mentorship, and potential career entry points within the industry.

At the end of the program, every participant will receive an official TimBuckDo X PVR INOX Certificate of Completion, exclusive vouchers and branded merchandise, and priority consideration for internships and future hiring at PVR INOX properties.

While most film-related courses focus on direction, acting, editing, or theory, Cine Career shines a light on the enormous industry that begins after a movie is made. Unlike online modules or purely theoretical courses, this collaboration between PVR INOX and TimBuckDo offers students the chance to learn with India’s largest cinema network. Instead of simulated case studies, they will gain first-hand exposure to cinema management and operational strategy, experiencing how the business truly functions from the inside.

“PVR INOX has always placed strong value on building a skilled and aware talent base for the cinema business. With Cine Career, we are giving students a chance to learn inside a live PVR INOX multiplex and see how our teams work, plan, and solve real situations each day. This program will help young people understand the full process that brings a film to the big screen and the many roles that support it. We see this as an important step in opening doors for students who want a clear and practical path into the industry.” Said Gautam Dutta, CEO – Revenue & Operations, PVR INOX.

Mythri Kumar, co-founder TimBuckDo shares, “Cine Career is a powerful step forward in our mission to enhance employability for India’s youth. Students often consume cinema but rarely understand the scale, systems, and strategy behind it. This isn’t just a course, it is a runway for youth to launch their careers with real experience. TimBuckDo is proud to bring Cine Career to students giving confidence, clarity and actual skill sets to students poised to enter the workforce.” Through this partnership with PVR INOX, we’re giving students real industry immersion, not just classroom theory. We’re excited to empower thousands of young people with skills that truly make them workplace-ready.”

The programme begins in Bengaluru and Mysuru, with limited seats available. Interested students can register through the official enrollment portal and secure their place.

For students who love movies, this is not just a course, it’s a gateway say the companies.
