The Quint Crosses Half a Million Subscribers on YouTube

The Quint Launches ‘Me, the Change’ Initiative On First-Time Women Voters

New Delhi: The Quint, one of India’s leading and fastest-growing digital content platforms has firmly established its stance as one of the most popular channels through which mobile-first and digitally-savvy Indians like to consume news. In just three years after launch, the platform has half a million subscribers on YouTube and six million followers on Facebook thanks to the way it has been redefining the digital news space in India.

According to the Weekly Facebook Leader board (Crowdtangle), during the last week of July 2018, The Quint raced ahead of legacy media platforms such as NDTV, India Today, HT, Indian Express, News 18 amongst others in terms of interactions and video views.  Averaging nearly 65 million video views per month across platforms and social media assets — including Facebook and YouTube — The Quint has enjoyed a whirlwind rise in the digital space in Indian journalism.

The numbers, however, tell just one part of the story. The Quint’s journalism has also garnered consistent critical acclaim From the industry and fellow journalists since its launch. It’s widely recognised for spearheading a new form of digital journalism and storytelling for the mobile-first, social-native reader and viewer.

Reflecting on The Quint’s journey From a new entrant to an industry trendsetter, Ritu Kapur, The Quint’s CEO and Founder, said, “The Quint has been leading digital news video innovation In India and this audience response is a massive reason for us to keep experimenting. In 2017, The Quint won three Golds and two Silvers at the South Asian Digital Media Awards. In the same year, it also picked up a total of eight awards at the Digipub Awards. 2018 started on a high as well, with the organisation bagging seven awards at the Vdonxt Awards, presented by Adobe and was awarded the Gold for “Best native advertising” by Foxglove awards.

With an exciting year in Indian politics and journalism coming up, The Quint hopes to set new standards in digital media and reach even bigger audiences in the days to come.
