Mumbai: Veteran advertising and communications leader Ramesh Narayan was honoured with the Pan Asian AFAAGlobal Changemakers for Good Award in the Individual Leader category at the prestigious AdAsia 2025 in Beijing.
The recognition celebrates Narayan’s longstanding commitment to using communication as a force for good and his impactful contributions to social and community development initiatives.
Expressing his gratitude, Narayan said “I was privileged to accept the Pan Asian AFAAGlobal Changemakers for Good Award in the category Individual Leader, on the big AdAsia stage. Thank you Chairman Srinivasan Swamy and the two-stage national and international jury members who found my contributions fit to acknowledge.”
In his presentation at the event, Narayan showcased a body of work spanning multiple social causes—from cause-related communication campaigns by the IAA India Chapter, to student enrichment initiatives (Bhavishya Yaan), elder day care programs (Ananda Yaan), sustainability efforts through the Olive Crown Awards and tree-planting drives, as well as support for early education (Lighthouse) and rural development projects in remote villages.
“This is one award I truly cherish because it celebrates the societal change that marketing and communications leaders can drive,” Narayan said. “It positions marcom leaders not just as brand builders but as individuals who believe they owe it to society to create real, positive impact.”
He further reflected on the responsibility towards future generations, emphasizing that true leadership lies in purposeful action.
“As I said on stage, forget about the naysayers who ask if a project is ‘scalable.’ Just decide which cause appeals to you and make a difference. As I always say—wipe one tear, spread one smile. Yours will be a life well lived,” he concluded.
