Reliance Jewels draws inspiration from Bengal, crafts poetry for Swarn Banga

When it comes to an ornament, anything can be an inspiration. But when the inspiration is the rich and vibrant cultural heritage of Bengal, the ornaments speak in verse. Terracotta, Shantiniketan and Durga Puja – integral to Bengal, and steeped in its culture – form the inspiration for Reliance Jewels’ latest collection, Swarna Banga.

The film, conceptualised by Scarecrow M&C Saatchi, tells the tale of a woman embarking on a search for the next verse, finding hidden scrolls and poetry along the way. She explores the Terracotta temples of Bishnupur, Upasana Griha in Shantiniketan, and Durga Puja celebrations, all set to the narrative of those very romantic verses that pay an ode to ‘Swarna Banga’.

Composer Debojyoti Mishra and poet Srijato wove the Bengali lyrics for the film, while the verses in Hindi have been penned by Manish Bhatt, Co-founder, Scarecrow M&C Saatchi.

Bhatt said, “In this era of moment marketing, I can’t recall any brand embarking on a sustained series of an elaborate 360-degree campaign, including exceptionally comprehensive films. We’ve created six campaigns in this series over a four-year period. It truly is a golden opportunity for Scarecrow to work on the sixth ad in the series with consistency. Especially in a culture that not only boasts a rich legacy but also, in contemporary times, stands as one of the most artistic and creative cultures in India, which empowers women.
