Mumbai: Omnicom Advertising India has elevated Rohan Mehta as its Chief Transformation Officer, marking a key leadership move following the network’s evolving structure in the country.
In his expanded mandate, Mehta will focus on driving digital integration and strengthening capabilities across the Omnicom Advertising ecosystem in India—an area seen as critical as agencies accelerate transformation amid shifting client demands.
Mehta’s appointment comes in the wake of Omnicom’s acquisition of IPG and the subsequent formalisation of Omnicom Advertising India’s leadership framework. While the development had been in motion, Mehta recently confirmed the designation through a LinkedIn update, bringing his new role into the public domain.
A well-known name in India’s digital marketing landscape, Mehta co-founded Kinnect alongside Chandni Shah. The agency was acquired by FCB, part of IPG, in 2023 and later rebranded as FCB Kinnect, positioning it within a global creative network.
Announcing his new role, Mehta reflected on his entrepreneurial journey and the scale of the opportunity ahead. “After 14 years of building Kinnect, I’m now stepping into the role of Chief Transformation Officer for Omnicom Advertising India,” he said in his LinkedIn post.
Describing the move as a defining moment for the industry, he highlighted the scale and depth of the combined entity. According to Mehta, the agencies under the Omnicom umbrella collectively represent one of the largest portfolios of clients and talent in Indian advertising, with relationships spanning decades and servicing a significant share of the country’s top 200 media spenders.
He also underscored the strength of the network’s combined expertise, calling it a “collective intelligence” built over years of experience across disciplines.
Reflecting on his time at Kinnect and within FCB, Mehta noted that the focus had been on building a modern marketing capability stack while keeping creativity at the core—an approach he intends to scale further in his new role.
Outlining his priorities, Mehta said he aims to ensure clients benefit from the full spectrum of Omnicom Advertising’s offerings, while also enabling talent within the network to evolve with new-age marketing skill sets without losing the trust and experience built over the years.
Calling the responsibility “massive,” Mehta expressed confidence in driving meaningful progress, citing the strength of the teams and partnerships within Omnicom Advertising India.
The appointment signals Omnicom’s intent to sharpen its transformation agenda in India, as global agency networks increasingly align their structures to deliver integrated, technology-led marketing solutions.
