Mumbai: Breaking away from comfort zones, Rexona’s latest campaign, ‘Maidan Mein Utro’, fronted by Indian cricket icon Smriti Mandhana, delivers a powerful message — true confidence is built by stepping in, showing up, and embracing every challenge.
The campaign is a bold celebration of participation, resilience, and self-belief, encouraging women to step into every “maidan” — every space and challenge — with confidence. Set against the dynamic backdrop of a cricket field, the film draws parallels between the sporting arena and the everyday fields of ambition that women navigate, from classrooms and workplaces to personal milestones.
In the campaign film, Smriti Mandhana is seen walking onto the field with purpose, her voice echoing through the stadium:
“Some of us are not here to sit, but to play. Not to lose, but to win. Not to fear the sweat, but to own it.”
Her words set the tone for a stirring narrative — a tribute to women who choose to participate rather than stay on the sidelines. The visuals alternate between moments of training, gameplay, and quiet determination, reinforcing Rexona’s message that true confidence isn’t about avoiding sweat; it’s about embracing it and owning every moment.
Speaking about the campaign, Smriti Mandhana, Vice-Captain of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team, said, “Confidence doesn’t come from waiting, it comes from stepping in. It comes from sweating it out and showing up, no matter how hard it is. That’s what ‘Maidan Mein Utro’ means to me and I hope it inspires every girl to take her first step with confidence.”
Adding perspective on the brand’s vision, Nitin Agarwal, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), Unilever International, shared, “‘Maidan Mein Utro’ is more than a campaign — it’s a call to action. It’s about empowering women with the confidence to move, to play, to show up — and Rexona is proud to be their confidence and freshness partner along the way.”
