Mumbai: Specta, the Indian luxury quartz surface brand, has unveiled a compelling new ad campaign featuring brand ambassador and acclaimed interior designer Gauri Khan. The campaign challenges a deeply entrenched notion in Indian homes—that beautiful kitchen surfaces automatically imply cleanliness and safety.

In the ad film, Gauri Khan addresses a powerful internal conflict familiar to many Indian homeowners. “The designer in me prefers beauty; the mother in me prefers safety,” she declares, drawing attention to the often-overlooked hygiene concerns behind attractive kitchen countertops. This duality lies at the heart of Specta’s message: homeowners shouldn’t have to choose between visual appeal and hygienic practicality.

The campaign stems from alarming insights—a Hygiene Council study revealed that Indian kitchen surfaces are often less hygienic than bathrooms, sparking a wider conversation about what lies beneath the surface of elegant interiors.

Specta’s quartz surfaces, designed to meet global standards, offer a solution to this dilemma. They are NSF-certified, non-porous, toxin-free, and safe for direct food contact—making them ideal for Indian kitchens that demand both style and sanitation.

“With this campaign, we wanted to start an honest conversation. Kitchen countertops are among the most used and abused surfaces in any home, and yet the conversation around their hygiene is rare,” said Ankit Jain, Founder of Specta Quartz Surfaces. “Gauri represents both creative finesse and everyday practicality, and her voice adds credibility to our mission of redefining surface choices for the modern Indian home.”

This initiative builds on Specta’s evolving partnership with Gauri Khan, which previously included the ‘Gauri Picks’ collection showcased at the AD Design Show 2024. Through this campaign, Specta continues to push the boundaries of premium interior design by merging aesthetics, safety, and performance into a unified conversation—reshaping how Indian homes think about kitchen surfaces.
