New Delhi: Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Ltd. (Star Health Insurance), a retail health insurance provider, has announced the appointment of Rajeev Kher, Independent Director, as the Chairperson of its Board of Directors. The appointment was confirmed at the company’s Board meeting held on April 29, 2025, and is subject to regulatory approval from the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).
Kher brings with him more than four decades of experience in international trade, industrial development, sustainable policy, and regulatory governance. A senior officer of the Indian Administrative Service and former Commerce Secretary to the Government of India, he has played a pivotal role in shaping India’s Foreign Trade Policy (2015–2020) and leading global trade negotiations. He has also held prominent positions in the Ministries of Environment and Commerce and served as a Member of the Competition Appellate Tribunal.
