Chennai : Vijay Television is all set to premiere the recent blockbuster movie Maari 2 on Sunday March 31st at 9am. Dhanush, besides producing the film under his company Wunderbar Films, also stars the title character. The movie stars Premam fame Sai Pallavi in the lead role, while Krishna, Varalakshmi Sarathkumar and Robo Shankar will be seen in pivotal roles.
The light hearted romantic action movie directed by Balaji Mohan is a sequel to Maari that was released in 2015. Picking up from the prequel, the film starts off with Maariappan aka Maari (Dhanush) as the fun-loving gangster with his sidekicks Sanikkizhamai aka Sani (Robo Shankar) and Robert aka Adithangi (Punching Bag) (Kalloori Vinoth). Maari is chased around by Araathu Aanandi (Sai Pallavi) who is head over heels in love with him. However, try as she might, Maari does not give her a second glance and constantly shows his annoyance to her. Maari is a fun-loving rowdy, who creates many enemies in his area due to his arrogant but righteous behaviour. Beeja, a dreaded gangster, vows to seek revenge against Maari for killing his brother.
Released in late 2018, Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored the music for the movie, the song Rowdy Baby has gone viral sensational dance number and is still a must play in parties.
The action and fun filled entertainer will premiere as a weekend special movie on Sunday March 31st at 9am on Star Vijay.
