The Press Trust of India (PTI) has appointed Subhakeerthana S as its new Deputy News Editor. With over 13 years of experience in the media industry, Subhakeerthana brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her new role.
Before joining PTI, she served as the Entertainment Editor at South First, where she honed her skills in editorial production and media management. Reflecting on her career journey, Subhakeerthana shared on her LinkedIn profile, “Every time I consider leaving journalism, some force draws me back. The more I want to quit, the stronger the pull to stay. Maybe life knows where my strengths lie. So, here I am again, diving into the madness – this time as Deputy News Editor at Press Trust of India (PTI).”
Subhakeerthana’s previous positions include Assistant Editor at The Federal from 2023 to 2024 and Senior Content Producer at HT Media Ltd in 2022. She also worked as Show Producer – Group Manager at Mirchi from 2020 to 2022, and served as Copy Editor (Entertainment) at The Indian Express from 2018 to 2020. Her diverse experience spans several notable organizations, including Silverscreen Media Inc., The News Minute, Film Companion, and Deccan Chronicle Holdings Ltd.
Throughout her career, Subhakeerthana has demonstrated a proven track record in writing for both print and online platforms, producing radio content, reviewing films, and conducting celebrity interviews. Additionally, she briefly led Kamal Haasan’s Maiam Whistle App, further showcasing her leadership skills in media.
Her expertise encompasses Editorial Production, Entertainment Journalism, Media Marketing, and Social Media Strategy, making her a valuable asset to PTI as the organization continues to strengthen its editorial team.
