Surat: Sudathi, the direct-to-consumer saree brand that rose to national visibility after its appearance on Shark Tank India Season 4, has announced the appointment of actor Mouni Roy as its brand ambassador. The collaboration marks a key strategic move as Sudathi looks to scale its festive and wedding saree collections.
The announcement follows the brand’s ₹1 crore investment deal on Shark Tank India, where it secured funding at a ₹25 crore valuation from sharks Anupam Mittal, Peyush Bansal, and Aman Gupta. The brand has since garnered significant attention for its innovation and reach in the ethnic wear space.
Known for her roles in Naagin, Gold, and Brahmastra, Mouni Roy brings widespread appeal across urban and regional markets. Her affinity for sarees, often reflected in her personal style and through her popular hashtag #SareeGirlForever, makes her a natural fit for Sudathi’s mission of blending tradition with modern sensibility.
“Mouni’s connect with audiences in both metros and smaller towns makes her the ideal face for our next phase. She reflects the blend of tradition and ease we want to bring to today’s saree shopper,” said Viren Lathiya, co-founder of Sudathi.
As part of the partnership, Mouni Roy will front flagship campaigns like #TyoharWaliSaree for festive collections and #ShaadiSabkiHai, focused on making wedding sarees more affordable and stylish. She will also feature in summer campaigns that highlight breathable fabrics suited for everyday fashion. The campaigns aim to promote sarees as versatile, trend-forward garments that are both stylish and accessible to women across India.
“Sarees have always been close to my heart. I’ve worn them in my shows, films, and even off-screen. What I love about Sudathi is that they make sarees feel stylish, accessible, and affordable for everyone. With new styles launching every week, it offers a one-of-a-kind online shopping experience,” said Mouni Roy.
The Shark Tank exposure has significantly boosted Sudathi’s reach and credibility. Additional backing from Arjun Vaidya (V3 Ventures) and Ritesh Khandelwal (Zyod) has further helped accelerate the brand’s growth.
Launched in 2023, Sudathi has already clocked ₹80 crore in turnover and is on track to hit ₹100 crore ARR. With 3,000+ saree designs across fabrics like silk, georgette, and cotton, and 100+ new styles dropping weekly, the brand is reshaping the traditional saree market. Its 1-minute Ready-to-Wear Sarees are especially popular among younger, style-conscious shoppers.
Now with over 1 million app downloads and a place among India’s Top 20 shopping apps, Sudathi is poised to become a dominant force in online fashion retail.
