Chennai: Sun TV Network has elevated N R Sivasankar as Business Head for Malayalam Cluster channels with immediate effect. He will be joining in place of Santosh J Nair who had left the organization recently to join Zee Keralam as Business Head.
Previously Sivasankar was heading the strategy and research for Sun TV Network. He is associated with Sun TV since January 2012 after his exit from Zee Kannada in 2011.
The Malayalam cluster of Sun TV Network includes GEC Surya TV, Movie Channel – Surya Movies and Music Channel – Surya Music and Siva is tasked with the mandate of reviving the fortune of the Malayalam GEC – Surya TV.
Shiva moved from agency side to broadcast business in 2009 after moving on from Lodestar to join Zee Network.
Sivasankar’s list of assignment in agency side includes his stint with Mediacom as Head of Chennai operations. He was instrumental in launching Lowe’s Interactive division in Chennai.
He had a long stint with CavinKare’s group company, Hemalatha Enterprises Pvt Ltd (HEPL), as Head – Planning, where he handled mass media for CavinKare brands.
A student of MICA, Siva is known for his acumen and deep understanding on the South Regional market and the audience behavior pattern.
