Mumbai: The Hindu Group Publishing Pvt. Ltd. has appointed Sundar Kondur as its new Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), strengthening its leadership as the organisation sharpens its focus on revenue growth and commercial innovation.
Kondur announced his appointment via a LinkedIn post, stating that he was “excited to start my new role as Chief Revenue Officer at The Hindu Group Publishing Pvt Ltd.”
A seasoned media professional, Kondur brings over two decades of experience across media publishing, advertising sales, revenue leadership, brand management and business development. In his new role, he will be responsible for driving integrated revenue strategies across the group’s publishing and digital businesses.
Before rejoining The Hindu Group, Kondur spent more than nine years at Bennett Coleman & Co. Ltd. (BCCL), where he held multiple leadership roles. Most recently, he was elevated to Director – Times Experiences, after serving as Director – South & East, a role in which he played a key part in driving regional growth and audience engagement.
Kondur’s career in the media industry began in 2003 at Mid Day, where he served as Publisher and General Manager. He later joined Kasturi & Sons, the publishing company behind The Hindu Group, where he worked as Vice President – Advertising Sales from May 2015 to November 2016, heading national sales for The Hindu.
With his return to The Hindu Group in a C-suite role, Kondur is expected to leverage his deep understanding of both traditional publishing and experiential media to unlock new revenue opportunities and partnerships, at a time when media businesses are rapidly evolving to meet changing advertiser and audience expectations.
