Mumbai: Sunil Kumaran has been appointed as Director – Strategic Initiatives at Bennett Coleman & Co. Ltd (The Times of India Group), according to an update on his LinkedIn profile. He assumed the role in December 2025.
Kumaran brings over 25 years of experience across broadcast, advertising, and digital platforms. Before joining BCCL, he most recently served as Chief Executive Officer at Reliance Broadcast Network Limited, following his tenure as Chief Operating Officer from April 2022 to July 2025. He also served as Country Head of THWINK, and in an earlier stint at Reliance Broadcast Network Limited from 2008 to 2015, he was Business Head.
Earlier in his career, Kumaran held key roles at leading agencies and media organisations, including The StoryLab-Dentsu Aegis Network, Universal McCann, Rediffusion DY&R, indya.com, Lowe and Partners Worldwide, JWT, and Saatchi & Saatchi.
In his new role at BCCL, Kumaran will lead strategic initiatives and support the group’s growth and innovation across its diverse media and digital platforms, leveraging his extensive experience in the industry.
