Chennai: The Hindu Made of Chennai Season 3, the 40-day city-wide celebration of Chennai’s birthday, is set to culminate with two marquee events that promise to be the highlight of this year’s festivities. Themed Kondaatam (Celebrations), the campaign has paid tribute to the city’s vibrancy, heritage, and resilience through a series of unique experiences — from archival photo exhibitions at The Hindu office, public music performances, and Moonlight Cinema screenings at Marina Beach, to curated heritage and photo walks.
As the celebration enters its final leg, citizens can look forward to:
- Made of Chennai Run (Sep 7, 2025): A spirited 5K and 10K run beginning at Napier Bridge and ending at Island Grounds, designed to combine fitness with the joy of city pride.
- Made of Chennai Food & Music Festival (Sep 13–14, 2025 at YMCA Grounds, Nandanam): A mega two-day festival celebrating Chennai’s flavours and sounds with artists, performances, cuisines, and immersive community experiences.
Speaking on the campaign, Suresh Balakrishna, Chief Revenue Officer, The Hindu Group, said, “Made of Chennai is more than a campaign. It is a city-wide movement that captures the essence of Chennai’s spirit. With the Run and the Food & Music Festival, we are creating experiences that bring together communities, brands, and citizens in a shared celebration. For our partners, it is a powerful opportunity to be part of a narrative that is rooted in culture, community, and celebration, while engaging audiences in ways that are memorable and impactful.”
Since inception, Made of Chennai has grown into a platform that celebrates the city while fostering meaningful engagement with its people. Season 3 amplifies this spirit, offering brands and partners new avenues to connect with Chennai’s diverse audience.
