Mumbai: Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has announced that Tushar Shah, Chief Marketing Officer & Business Head – Movies, Regional, FTA and Infotainment Channels, will be transitioning out of the organisation after an exceptional 16-year tenure. Including his earlier stint with Sony from 2002 to 2005, Shah has been associated with the network for over 19 years. His last working day will be March 31, 2026, during which he will continue to support a smooth transition and handover.
With more than three decades of experience across Revenue, Marketing and Business roles spanning Print, Telecom and Media, Shah has played a pivotal role in shaping SPNI’s channel strategy and brand ecosystem. Over the years, he has overseen the growth and performance of a diverse portfolio, including Sony MAX, Sony MAX 1, Sony MAX2, Sony PAL, Sony WAH, Sony Marathi, Sony AATH, Sony PIX, and Sony BBC Earth.
Shah is credited with driving the successful turnaround of Sony AATH, guiding the channel to sustained profitability for over a decade. He also strengthened the Movies, Regional, FTA and Infotainment clusters with a strong emphasis on brand-building, audience expansion and operational efficiency.
A notable highlight of his leadership was spearheading SPNI’s landmark network-wide rebranding, marking the first complete refresh since the network’s inception. The initiative elevated the brand’s visual identity and reinforced its strategic positioning in a rapidly evolving media landscape.
Shah’s legacy at SPNI reflects deep audience insight, strong brand acumen and consistent execution across varied genres, leaving a lasting imprint on the network’s growth journey.
