Mumbai: &TV is set to strengthen its fiction slate with the launch of Gharwali Pedwali, a refreshing family comedy that blends slice-of-life humour with a quirky supernatural twist. Produced by Peninsula Productions, the show will premiere on December 15 at 10:00 PM and will air Monday to Friday.
The show features Paras Arora as Jeetu Pandey, Seerat Kapoor as Savi (Gharwali), and Priyamvada Kant as Latika (Pedwali), supported by an ensemble cast including Richa Soni, Geeta Bisht, Harsh Vashisht, Brij Bhushan Shukla and Amitabh Ghanekar in key roles.
Set in Varanasi, Gharwali Pedwali revolves around Jeetu, a man whose life has always unfolded in unexpected “twos”. His simple dream of marital happiness takes a hilarious turn when a symbolic tree marriage leads to the entry of Latika, a spirited ghost who believes she is his rightful bride. What follows is comic chaos as Jeetu navigates life between his real, modern wife Savi and his whimsical supernatural companion, doubling the drama, humour and emotional moments.

Talking about the show, Kaveri Das, Chief Channel Officer, &TV, Business Head – Hindi Z5 says, “At &TV, we strive to introduce concepts that surprise, entertain, and emotionally connect with our audiences. ‘Gharwali Pedwali’ is a refreshing and imaginative take on family comedy. A genre loved across Indian households yet rarely explored in new, innovative ways. The contrast between a modern, independent young wife and a spirited ghost bride brings limitless possibilities for humour and storytelling. The show beautifully captures everyday family emotions while adding a magical layer that makes it truly distinctive. With its quirky premise, rooted characters and warmth, we believe the show will bring wholesome joy to our viewers every night.”
Sharing their thoughts, Peninsula Productions adds, “What excited us most about ‘Gharwali Pedwali’ is its ability to deliver clean, joyful entertainment with a novel twist. The supernatural element does not merely add humour to it, it builds emotion, conflict and laughter in ways that feel fresh and meaningful. Jeetu’s world, divided between two wives from two different realms, lends itself to endless comedic possibilities while keeping the narrative heartfelt and relatable. We are grateful to &TV for their belief in such innovative storytelling, and we are confident that viewers will embrace this show for its originality, warmth, and sheer entertainment value.”
Paras Arora, who plays Jeetu, says, “Jeetu is a beautifully relatable character, someone who wants a simple, peaceful life but always ends up in complicated situations. Playing a man balancing two wives, one real and one supernatural, is both hilarious and creatively challenging. What drew me to this role was its innocence and unpredictability. Comedy as a genre is incredibly rewarding, and this script instantly connects with me because it offers humour rooted in emotion. I am excited for viewers to see Jeetu’s confusion, charm and journey as he navigates this utterly chaotic double life.”
Speaking about her role as Latika, Priyamvada Kant shares, “My character Latika is the heart of the show dramatic, affectionate, old-worldly and delightfully mischievous. As a spirit who genuinely believes Jeetu belongs to her, her emotions and actions drive much of the show’s humour and warmth. Supernatural comedy is such an unexplored genre on Indian television, and that’s exactly what drew me to this project. Latika is layered, expressive and funny, and playing her allows me to blend comedy with emotional depth. I’m thrilled to return to television with a role this unique.”
Adding to this, Seerat Kapoor, who essays the role of Savi, says, “Savi is a vibrant, modern Gen Z girl who believes in love, family and honest relationships. Her world completely flips when she discovers that her husband now has a second ‘wife’, who happens to be a ghost! The contrast between Savi’s contemporary personality and Latika’s old-school charm creates some of the most humorous and emotional moments in the show. I love Savi’s strength and her ability to find humour even in the most chaotic situations. This show is unlike anything I have done before, and I am sure the audience will enjoy this magical, comedic, and emotional rollercoaster.”
With its endearing characters, rooted family emotions and a delightful mix of realism and fantasy, Gharwali Pedwali promises wholesome, laughter-filled entertainment.
