Mumbai: Mondelēz International has elevated Vidya Kailasam Hangal to the position of Director – Category Planning & Activation (Head – Customer Marketing), reinforcing the company’s focus on strengthening category-led growth and customer-centric execution across channels.
Hangal confirmed the move in a LinkedIn post, stating that she is “happy to share” that she has begun her new role at the global snacking major.
The promotion marks another milestone in Hangal’s long association with Mondelēz International, where she has spent over 11 years in leadership roles. Most recently, she served as Director – Omnichannel, leading the Organised Trade vertical at Mondelez India Foods. In that capacity, she was responsible for driving the Modern Trade business across B2C and B2B, as well as scaling the company’s e-commerce ecosystem, including quick commerce, e-grocery and online marketplaces in India.
With more than two decades of experience in the FMCG sector, Hangal has built and scaled high-growth businesses across some of the country’s most prominent CPG organisations. Her career spans leadership roles at Mondelēz, Britannia and Coca-Cola, giving her deep exposure to brand building, go-to-market strategy and customer marketing.
Before joining Mondelēz, Hangal held roles at Britannia Industries Limited, Novartis Consumer Health, and The Coca-Cola Company, among others, contributing to her broad-based expertise across categories and channels.
In her new role, Hangal is expected to focus on strengthening category planning and activation strategies, aligning customer marketing initiatives with evolving retail and digital consumption trends.
