Hanoi: VinFast has announced its international expansion strategy for electric scooters, marking a significant milestone in the company’s global growth journey and the continued build-out of its comprehensive green mobility ecosystem. The company has identified five initial priority markets for expansion: the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Thailand, and Malaysia.
Under this strategy, VinFast will accelerate its global e-scooter rollout, beginning with these high-potential markets, which are characterised by strong urban mobility demand, favourable demographics, and a rapidly growing shift toward sustainable transportation solutions.
On the product front, VinFast plans to introduce a range of battery-swapping electric scooters, including the VinFast Flazz, VinFast Evo, VinFast Feliz II, and VinFast Viper, along with additional new models to be launched in subsequent phases. Each product will be adapted to local riding conditions, usage patterns, and consumer preferences across individual markets.
From a commercial standpoint, VinFast aims to establish hundreds of retail outlets across these markets by 2027, creating a strong foundation for long-term growth. The company’s expansion model is designed to be flexible and operationally efficient, integrating dealer networks, service workshops, financing solutions, and energy infrastructure. This includes collaboration with V-Green to deploy charging and battery-swapping systems.
VinFast’s international e-scooter strategy builds on its strong domestic performance in Vietnam. In 2025, the company delivered 406,453 electric scooters, securing the leading market share in Vietnam’s scooter segment. With a portfolio of more than 10 models spanning multiple segments and supported by flexible charging and battery-swapping solutions, VinFast has positioned electric scooters as a preferred mobility option for Vietnamese consumers.
Entering 2026, VinFast completed its master plan for three distinct e-scooter lines—mainstream, premium, and sport—and simultaneously launched seven new models in the premium and sport categories. Backed by large-scale manufacturing capabilities, competitive pricing, and a comprehensive ecosystem supported by strategic partner V-Green, VinFast aims to significantly accelerate the electrification of transportation across the region and globally.
Commenting on the expansion, VoThiCam Tu, Managing Director of VinFast E-Scooters Overseas Market, said, “Expanding our e-scooter business globally represents a strategic pillar in VinFast’s long-term development roadmap. We have conducted in-depth market research, worked closely with local partners, and developed comprehensive plans for dealer network expansion, product portfolios, and service ecosystems. Through collaboration with reputable dealers and strategic partners worldwide, VinFast is committed to delivering smart, sustainable, and accessible electrified mobility solutions, contributing meaningfully to the green transformation of transportation in diverse markets.”
The Philippines will serve as the first strategic market in VinFast’s global e-scooter expansion. The company has partnered with five established dealers across Luzon and Mindanao—Maverick Racing Factory Inc., MotorCentral, New Nemar Development Corp., Supremebike Corporation, and ARC Trading—to roll out a nationwide retail and service network. These partners bring strong market experience and a shared commitment to green mobility initiatives.
In recent years, VinFast has steadily built a green mobility ecosystem across markets including the Philippines, Indonesia, and India through collaborations with local partners, as well as strategic alliances with GSM, an all-electric taxi operator, and V-Green, a global charging infrastructure developer.
Beyond electric scooters, VinFast has also introduced a broad electric vehicle portfolio ranging from the VF 3 to the VF 9, further expanding consumer choice and reinforcing the company’s role in advancing sustainable transportation globally.
