Share Share ShareShare

Mumbai: Prasar Bharati has unveiled a new Magazines and Journals Section on its OTT platform, WAVES, creating a unified, multilingual digital hub for India’s leading periodicals. The launch took place during Magzimise 2025 at The Imperial, New Delhi, and was officiated by Gaurav Dwivedi, CEO, Prasar Bharati, in the presence of prominent publishers and industry leaders.

The new section debuts with over 50 titles from six major publishing houses — Living Media India Limited (India Today Group), Delhi Press Patra Prakashan Private Limited, Outlook Publishing India Pvt. Ltd., Diamond Magazines Private Limited, Kalakaumudi Publications Private Limited, and Ananda Vikatan Productions Private Limited. The catalogue spans news, current affairs, research, lifestyle, culture, and niche interest content.

Publications are available in nine languages — English, Malayalam, Gujarati, Bengali, Kannada, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi — including popular titles such as India Today, Business Today, Reader’s Digest, Cosmopolitan, Outlook, Sarita, Champak, Grihlakshmi, Kalakaumudi, and Aval Vikatan.

This addition builds on WAVES’ existing library, which already offers free access to government publications like Yojana, Kurukshetra, Aajkal, and Bal Bharati. Over the next year, the platform aims to expand to 150+ titles from 30+ renowned publishers, positioning itself as one of the country’s most comprehensive digital archives for magazines and journals.

To commemorate the launch, WAVES is offering a special limited-period subscription plan at ₹99 per month or ₹999 annually.

Gaurav Dwivedi, CEO, Prasar Bharati, said, “WAVES is evolving into a complete content destination, a place where audiences can find trusted information, meaningful storytelling, and cultural depth in equal measure. The Magazines and Journals Section strengthens this vision, offering credible and diverse content in multiple languages to readers across the country. This is about more than convenience; it is about placing quality publishing where the audience already is.”

Anant Nath, Executive Publisher, Delhi Press, and President, Association of Indian Magazines, said, “We are extremely excited to partner with WAVES to bring the richness of Indian magazines with their credible and thoughtful content to the large online readership that the platform is building.”

The Magazines and Journals Section is now live for subscribers nationwide on WAVES across the mobile app, web portal, and connected TV platforms.
