New Delhi: WAVES OTT, India’s public service streaming platform from Prasar Bharati, is bringing football fans a double treat with the exclusive live broadcast of two premier German football competitions – the DFB-Pokal 2025/26, Germany’s iconic men’s knockout tournament, and the Bundesliga Women 2025/26, one of the most competitive women’s football leagues globally.
This marks the first-ever broadcast of elite German football by India’s public broadcaster, offering free access to top-tier European football for audiences across the country. Every match will be aired live on DD Sports (Free-to-Air), digitally streamed on the WAVES OTT app, and extensively covered across Prasar Bharati’s national and regional social media platforms.
The DFB-Pokal 2025/26 kicks off on Friday, August 15, with two thrilling fixtures – FC Gütersloh vs 1. FC Union Berlin and SG Sonnenhof Großaspach vs Bayer 04 Leverkusen – both starting at 21:30 IST. Known for its intense knockout format, the DFB-Pokal pits Bundesliga heavyweights against lower-division underdogs, promising high-octane action from day one.
The Bundesliga Women 2025/26 begins on Friday, September 5, as Eintracht Frankfurt hosts SGS Essen at 22:00 IST. The league is renowned for its pace, technical brilliance, and world-class players, making it one of the most exciting women’s football competitions in the world.
