Mumbai: The World Pickleball League (WPBL) has announced Eurosport India, owned by global media major Warner Bros. Discovery, as its official television broadcast partner for Season 2. The partnership will bring India’s premier franchise-based pickleball league to over 70 million homes across the country.
Following a successful inaugural season in 2025 that introduced pickleball to Indian prime-time audiences, WPBL is set to return on a larger scale. Season 2 will feature seven teams, following the addition of the Jaipur franchise, and will see a significant increase in action with 120 matches scheduled—up from 90 matches last season. All matches will be broadcast live on Eurosport India.
The upcoming season will span 13 days of competitive sportainment, combining elite pickleball action with live entertainment, beginning January 27, 2026. Eurosport, Warner Bros. Discovery’s flagship multi-sport brand, reaches 246 million subscribers across 75 countries in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
Commenting on the partnership, Gaurav Natekar, Founder and CEO, World Pickleball League, said, “The broadcast partnership with Eurosport India is a natural progression in World Pickleball League’s growth journey. It enables us to reach millions of new viewers internationally as the league continues to expand. Season 2 reflects how quickly World Pickleball League has scaled into a truly global spectacle, with players from over 25 countries registering for the draft and representation from 18 different nations to feature this season. With more live matches and a significantly enhanced sportainment experience, World Pickleball League is focused on delivering long-term value for fans, players, broadcasters, partners and franchises alike.”
World Pickleball League blends competitive gameplay with celebrity franchise ownership and immersive fan engagement. The expanded format and increased match count underscore WPBL’s ambition to deepen audience connections while scaling its national and international footprint.
As pickleball continues its rapid rise in popularity across India, the partnership with Eurosport India marks a significant step in taking the sport deeper into Indian households. The collaboration aims to build a league audiences can connect with both on and off the court, positioning pickleball as a growing pillar within India’s evolving sports ecosystem.
