Mumbai: WPP Media has promoted Karthik Shankar to the role of Senior Vice President – Digital Investments & Partnerships, strengthening its leadership in digital media strategy and platform-driven advertising solutions.
Shankar brings more than 17 years of experience in digital advertising technologies, with a strong track record in building scalable business models and advancing digital investment strategies.
In his previous role as Head – Digital Investments at GroupM from 2021 to 2025, Shankar played a significant role in shaping the organisation’s digital investment framework. He focused on developing monetisation strategies around video while helping build business models aligned with evolving media ecosystems and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) environments.
During his tenure, he was also involved in product pricing and strategic planning initiatives and led negotiations with major media and technology partners working with GroupM.
Before joining GroupM, Shankar worked with Amazon as a Senior Program Manager for Amazon DSP. In that role, he contributed to the development and management of programmatic advertising solutions, gaining extensive experience in data-driven digital media platforms.
With his elevation, WPP Media is expected to further strengthen its digital investment capabilities and partnerships in an increasingly platform-led advertising landscape.
