Mumbai: Yes Bank has announced the appointment of S. Anantharaman as Chief Risk Officer (CRO), reinforcing its leadership team as it continues to strengthen its enterprise-wide risk management framework.
In his new role, Anantharaman will oversee key functions including Credit Policy, Operational & Enterprise Risk, Market Risk, Information Security, Model Governance, Data Analytics, as well as Data Privacy and Protection, playing a critical role in enhancing the bank’s risk governance architecture.
Anantharaman brings over three decades of experience in the banking and financial services sector, with deep expertise across enterprise risk management, credit strategy, portfolio quality, fraud risk, and regulatory governance. A Chartered Accountant (ACA) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), he has held leadership roles across some of India’s leading financial institutions.
He joins YES BANK from Jio Financial Services, where he served as Group Chief Risk Officer and was instrumental in building a comprehensive risk management architecture across lending, payments, insurance broking, and asset management businesses.
Prior to that, he was Chief Risk Officer at Bank of Baroda, where he led initiatives to improve asset quality and portfolio resilience while strengthening the bank’s overall risk framework. His earlier stints include senior leadership roles at HDFC Bank and L&T Finance Holdings, where he managed large corporate and retail credit portfolios and implemented data-driven risk management systems.
