This weekend, Zee Cinemalu is geared up to give its viewers an enthralling movie experience as it presents the Premiere of Indra. The movie will be forever remembered for its box office success at theatrical release in 2002 and it completed 20 years. With an engaging storyline and some action performances, Indra is all set to take the viewers on an action and emotion-filled and exciting journey once again as it premieres on 30th December, Saturday at 6 pm, only on Zee Cinemalu.
After eight years, the widely acclaimed movie ‘Indra’ is returning to television screens. Zee Cinemalu will present the timeless classic, which is an action-packed film directed by B. Gopal, Produced under Vyjayanthi movies. In fact, Indra is celebrating its 20th anniversary since releasing at the box office and fans are already nostalgic remembering the success of the movie starring legendary stars such as Chiranjeevi and Sonali Bendre. Revolving around Shankar Narayan (played by Chiranjeevi), a taxi driver entangled with faction families in Rayalaseema, the film explores themes of forgiveness, reconciliation, and justice as Shankar seeks to end the deep-rooted enmity in society. The movie won three state Nandi Awards with Chiranjeevi earning accolades in the Best Actor category.
The film’s success led to its dubbed releases in Tamil as ‘Indhiran’ and in Hindi as ‘Indra: The Tiger’. Also starring Aarthi Agarwal, Teja Sajja, Prakash Raj, and Shivaji, the film’s high-octane action sequences wooed one and all. Interestingly, Teja Sajja, the child artist who played Chiranjeevi in the movie, is now the lead hero for the upcoming Pan India movie, Hanuman.
The soulful music of the movie was composed by Melody King Mani Sharma and is still a hit. The power-packed story coupled with amazing action sequences and great music will surely make the 2002 movie, ‘Indra’, a must watch even today as it telecasts on 30th December at 6 pm, only on Zee Cinemalu.
