New Delhi: Budget 2017 was much awaited given that the Modi Government had implemented its demonetization drive just a couple of months back. It was against this backdrop that CNN-News18’s award winning show, an initiative launched a decade back, once again took on the mantle of taking the people’s voice to the Honourable Finance Minister.
FM Jaitley includes recommendations of channel’s award winning show Axe the Tax in Budget 2017 and the cap on cash transactions above Rs. 3 lakhs and no income tax up to Rs. 3 lakhs per annum were major announcements made by the FM during the Budget speech – these were key recommendations made by the channel to the Finance Minister.
Earlier, during the Pre-Budget session, the Managing Editor, Radhakrishna Nair presented the Axe The Tax booklet to the FM that contained the list of recommendations and suggestions based on the mapping that was done through the large scale in-puts received from the Channel’s Budget 2017 special shows.
