The leading English premiere channel, Star Movies Select HD celebrates not just stories, but real life stories through a film festival- ‘True Stories’ this April.
Commencing on the 3rd of April, the channel shall feature a diverse range of biopics that will bring back the stories of these heroes through the cinematic media to the audiences to cherish. The film begins this festival is the Academy Award Nominated film- Moneyball.
Moneyball is a film in the drama genre that revolves around sportsmanship and the principle storyline being the Oakland Athletics baseball team’s 2002 season and their general manager Billy Beane’s attempts to assemble a competitive team.
Directed by Bennett Miller, the film is based on Michael Lewis’s 2003 non-fiction book of the same name and Columbia Pictures bought the rights to Lewis’s book in 2004 which was then made into a splendid award winning movie in 2011.
India has a strong connection with sports and Bollywood has reflected that love with belting movies that are sport related like Lagaan, Chak De, Jo jeeta Wohi Sikander and many more, Hollywood doesn’t lag behind in the emotion and has captured the essence of sportsmanship in many a films, Moneyball being one of the best.
