Karan Tyagi gets elevated as General Manager of Carat Malaysia

Carat Malaysia has promoted its deputy general manager Karan Tyagi to the role of agency GM. 

Having built his forte through 13 years of handling account management and media planning and buying in a very complicated yet evolved market that is India, Tyagi joined Carat Malaysia as Business Head in July 2014 to work on key global client accounts such as Mondelez International, Mastercard, Philips and 20th Century Fox.

Since joining the network, he had been handpicked to be part of Dentsu Aegis Network’s elite ‘Route 500’ Global Leadership Development Programme, which aims to equip the network’s high-potential leaders with tools to accelerate and realise their career ambitions. As a result, he fast-tracked his career and climbed his way up to Deputy General Manager, and now General Manager.

Prior to joining Carat Malaysia, Tyagi was in his home country, India where he was associated with VivaKi India as GM. He also had 5 years long stint with Maxus India as Business Director. During his stint in India he handled All Brands of Perfetti India and Samsung.

Apparently, Karan Tyagi’s appointment coincides with appointment of two more agency leaders Kenneth Teh and Zeeshan Khan.

Kenneth Teh was appointed to take on the role of Head of Digital, Carat Malaysia, whereby he is tasked to drive digital transformation for clients. He brings with him experience in developing a holistic digital approach for local and global financial institutions.

Another addition to Carat Malaysia’s senior leadership team is Zeeshan Khan who joins as Business Director. A digital specialist and marketing communications professional, Zeeshan brings with him more than 15 years of experience gained from both agency and client ecosystems. He has worked across various geographies and industries from the Middle East, Pakistan and Southeast Asia. In Malaysia, he was most recently the Director of Client Leadership at Mindshare, a GroupM company. He was managing high-billings portfolios such as telco (Digi), financial services (HSBC) and FMCG (Kimberly Clark and Nestle) with deep involvement across consumer insights, strategic planning and digital performance.
