Inverted Billboard Fiasco: Posterscope rubbishes the claims made by Bangalore Vendor – mulls action against defamatory act

Bangalore: Posterscope, the agency that handles the OOH Campaigns of Samsung has lambasted the slanderous act of the vendor who inversely displayed their clients ad and clarified that the claims made by the vendor was absolutely false and derogatory in nature.

On 30th May, an advertisement hoarding for Samsung Galaxy Note was displayed inversely in the Residency Road, Bangalore that created ripples in the advertising industry.In addition to its position being upside down, there was a statement on the board that read “Non – Payment – This display is inverted due to non- payment of the company’s agent Brandscope”. Such pseudo innovations where never seen before in the Industry.

 Market sources revealed that the payment related to the services rendered by the vendor has been cleared and the agency has rubbished the gesture of the vendor, stating that the vendor failed to illuminate the hoarding and had mounted a political hoarding over the brand’s communication, the payment was withheld for the shortfall in services by the agency and for the services rendered payment was cleared to the vendor.

Reacting to the inverted billboard fiasco Haresh Nayak, Regional Director, Posterscope APAC & Managing Director, Posterscope Group India, said“We take outright offence at this unsubstantiated claim of non-payment, and maintain that payments have been made for services that were rendered and withheld for services that were not. We are custodians of our clients and their brands and take it seriously when their outdoor display is tampered with or exhibited inappropriately.”

“In this case illumination of the billboard was down and also the vendor had mounted a political message over our clients communication, damaging the continuity and message of the campaign. As a SOX compliant organisation and leaders in this space we do not encourage nor indulge in any form of activities that bring disrepute to the industry, our brand and our clients image. We will take necessary recourse for this defamation in due course” added Nayak.

The hoarding that alarmed many people was up in its right position within a few hours.
