Brands launch melodic campaigns on World Music Day Music speaks directly to your soul, and it’s not only entertaining but is also a way for relaxation. It helps in soothing your souls and boosting your overall well-being.

World Music Day is celebrated annually on 21 June around the world. It is regarded as a day to encourage young and amateur musicians to perform. The first all-day musical celebration on the day of the summer solstice was originated by Jack Lang, Minister of Culture of France, and Maurice Fleuret; it was celebrated in Paris in 1982. Music Day later became celebrated in 120 countries around the world.

Brands around the world have launched innovative and melodic campaigns on World Music Day.

Here are a few of them:

Duroflex:

Duroflex has joined hands with SaPa (Subramaniam Academy of Performing Arts), the renowned music academy led by singer-songwriter Bindu Subramaniam and violinist Ambi Subramaniam, children of legendary musicians Dr. L Subramaniam and Kavita Krishnamurti.  In the first of their collaboration series, Duroflex Sounds of Sleep Sessions, a soulful rendition of the classic Tamil lullaby “Ennama Thozhi” has been released. The beautiful rendition of this lullaby has been performed by Bindu and Ambi Subramaniam, along with talented young musicians from SaPa. The song is about a little girl who has lost her doll and now misses it.

Duroflex Sounds of Sleep X SaPa is the first of many lullabies, as part of Duroflex’s Sounds of Sleep Sessions which will include various music renditions in acoustic and unplugged releases.

Facebook:

Facebook announced a bundle of new initiatives for music enthusiasts in the country including a week-long celebration for World Music Day from June 21 – June 27. Over 80 artists, singers, music composers across genres including film, classical, ghazals, pop, indie, rap, hip-hop, will be taking the virtual stage across Facebook and Instagram with an aim to make #MoreMusicTogether.

As part of the #MoreMusicTogether initiative, the company has partnered with artists, music publishers and labels to provide an engaging experience along with a range of features for music lovers to connect and create their personalized content.

&Flix:

On World Musical Day, &Flix brings an amazing line of musical dramas for all you music lovers with an all-day binge starting from 7.30 AM only on &Flix. Incite yourselves with musical dramas that pay respect to what music does for us in our day. Join us in this celebration of melodies that will make your day far more exciting and joyful.

HiPi and &Pictures:

HiPi, India’s fast-growing short video platform, has tied up with &Pictures to announce the latter’s #DanceFullOn contest. Started on 19th June, last Saturday, and going all the way till 23rd June, the challenge presents dance lovers across the country with an opportunity to perform and recreate a 20-second hook step on HiPi. HiPi has partnered with the skilled dancer and Bollywood’s popular dance director, PiyushBhagat, to specially choreograph and create the hook step, to the thumping beats of &Pictures’ song – On Nahi, Full On.

This challenge will give users a chance to become instant social media sensation. The performances will be evaluated by PiyushBhagat himself and the top 5 participants will take home cash prizes worth up to INR 50,000.

Lava International Limited:

On World Music Day, Indian mobile brand, Lava International Limited announced its entry into the true wireless segment with the launch of its first-ever true wireless earphones- Probuds by Lava. The earbuds are launching with an introductory offer that will enable users to purchase them at just Rs. 1* on the Lava E-store as well on e-commerce websites like Amazon & Flipkart. The special offer is valid from 24th June 12.00pm onwards, until stocks last.

Smule:

Smule, the Social Karaoke App, is driving positive sentiment on this World Music Day amongst music lovers with the multi-faceted actor and poet Piyush Mishra rendering his voice to his poem in a soul-touching video “Gaana Kya Chaahta Hai.”

The poem, narrated in Piyush Mishra’s signature earthy tones, narrates how a song does not care for age, gender, religious values or views. It finds its way into the purity of a mother’s love, the bonhomie of lifelong friends, and idyllic romance. A bathroom, a beach, a bazaar; a song is an excuse for mirth, no matter the day or time. Every song is waiting for you to invite it into your life, and let it take over you!

Radio City:

Radio City, India’s leading radio network has launched its special World Music Day activities in some of the biggest cities in the country; namely Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Vizag, Coimbatore, and Madurai. Radio City’s special event is centered on coming together and experiencing healing through the power of music, with participation from some of the leading musical talents across cities, such as Anurag Kulkarni, Santosh Narayanan, Ramya Beha, Shweta Mohan, Unni Krishan, Ranjith, Shakthisree Gopalan, Sanchari Vijay, Prem, Sharan, Vijay Raghavendra, Sudharani, Neethu Shetty and Shubha Punja Vijay Prakash, etc. It is yet another tribute by Radio City to its millions of loyal listeners.

Radio City is executing ‘City Ka Musical Dose’ which is centered on the idea that music is the most soothing ointment in the most painful times. It aims to uplift the moods of citizens throughout the city and inspire them to keep their spirits high.

Zing:

After the resounding success of the first edition of Zing Fan Jam on World Music Day last year, Zing is back with – ‘Zing Fan Jam Level 2’. Zing roped in Bollywood singer & pop sensation Arjun Kanungo and gave an exciting opportunity to two of his biggest fans to jam alongside him and feature in a music video!

Zing’s quest to stay on top of trends continues with this property. Riding the Hallyu wave, earlier this year Zing introduced K-Dramas dubbed in Hindi for their viewers – the only channel currently to do so. The theme this year brings together the music of India and Korea. With the rising popularity of K-Pop & K-Dramas in India, this theme seemed the aptest for the ultimate fusion of the year!

Gaana:

This World Music Day, as millions stay indoors, Gaana will help music lovers embark on a trip down memory lane by helping them relive special moments of their lives – right from school, college years, first love, first heartbreak, and beyond.

Starting June 21st, 2021, music lovers on Gaana can simply tap on the ‘World Music Day’ Banner on the home screen, enter their birth year, and shall be treated to rich music cards featuring nostalgic tunes that would be specially curated based on how their lives have unfolded! This will offer music lovers the opportunity to relive past memories while enjoying music that they used to groove to earlier! The users will also be told about an iconic moment in music from the year of their birth.

MX TakaTak:

Celebrating World Music Day, the much loved B Praak, will perform LIVE on the app to inspire and entertain the audience with his soulful performance on Monday, June 21st at 8.30 pm. The platform is also orchestrating a fun challenge by giving the timeless game of Musical Chair a fun twist! All a creator has to do is to grab a chair, sit on it, select a song of their choice, and voila, you’ve entered the #MyMusicalChair challenge wherein you must perform (sing, dance, recreate a scene, lip-sync with expressions, etc) while seated on the chair with the audio on.

Juicy Chemistry:
