New Delhi: The News Broadcasters and Digital Association’s (NBDA) has issued a statement demanding implementation of reforms at BARC and evaluate ways to enhance data security with out manual intervention in processing the data collected for viewership measurement. Reacting to the situation NBDA claimed that it stands vindicated as the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MoI&B) recognises the need for improvement, acknowledges the deficiencies, the need to urgently increase sample size and systemic corrections. Welcoming various reconditions by the Ministry, NBDA also appreciated the reforms that are being undertaken to make the processes, protocols and oversight mechanism at BARC India more robust. "It is heartening that the Ministry acknowledged that the ratings system for TV news had deficiencies and took note of the suggestions made by NBDA. The reconstitution of the BARC Board and the Technical Committee to allow for the induction of independent members, along with the setting up of a permanent oversight committee, are all steps in the right direction. After the unearthing of the TRP scam by Mumbai Police in October 2020, the NBDA had asked BARC India to overhaul its systems before resuming the release of TV news ratings." "We note the Ministry’s decision to set up a Joint Working Group under the Chairmanship of Prasar Bharti CEO Shashi Shekhar Vempati to study the potential for leveraging Return Path Data (RPD) from set top boxes. We look forward to working with it on the crucial issue of RPD. We look forward to working with the Committee. NBDA hopes that this will ensure that the data collected for viewership measurement is more authentic and real time." Reiterating its demand for improving the data processing menthols of BARC before realising the viewership for News genre NBDA said, "While we recognizes that a number of reforms are being undertaken at BARC, there is still room to make systems more transparent, robust and reliable. BARC should also evaluate ways to enhance data security and ensure that there is no manual intervention at any step in the ratings process. We hope before any ratings are released, these measures are in place. We will continue to work with all stakeholders on refining the Outlier Policy to eliminate statistical anomalies and increasing the sample size to strengthen the credibility of data.”

New Delhi: Changing Tree, a fully integrated digital agency offering creative and technical solutions for brands, has rolled out a film with celebrated actor Salman Yusuf Khan. In order to spread positivity and hope during these uncertain times, Salman Yusuf Khan reminds the nation of the constant nature of change in our lives. Additionally, he urges the audience to embrace change and live the year 2022 to the fullest.

Salman Yusuf Khan presents a stirring narrative through this film. He opens the film by taking the audience back to the 31st December of 2019, when India found itself entering the last year of the decade with hope and expectation, not realizing that the world would be altered unimaginably. In the aftermath of the lockdown, people felt like prisoners in their own homes. The loss of jobs, the separation from loved ones, and the loss of family members were terrible losses. The situation was unprecedented. An eerie silence swept the world. The situation persisted into 2020 and 2021. What changed though was people's attitude – they wanted to survive, succeed and overcome.

We can all relate to change – it can be exciting, scary, uncertain, and encouraging all at once. One thing remains constant, however: change. The film ends with Salman Yusuf Khan calling on India to stay positive and embrace change in 2022.

Syed Idrees, Founder of Changing Tree Communications Pvt Ltd. said “Through this film, we hope to bring some positivity, reassurance, and inspiration to the current scenario by illustrating that change isn’t always bad, and embracing it is the only way to truly move forward. The message is conveyed through an inspiring, narrative video in collaboration with Salman Yusuf Khan. We believe that this film is the inspiration that India needs today.”

Actor and dancer Salman Yusuff Khan said, “This was an incredible opportunity to team up with Changing Tree to create this message. I personally believe that change is a universal constant and the only way to move forward is to embrace it and to be able to put that message across in this inspiring video was an amazing experience for me. I hope that it inspires everyone and spreads positivity during these crisis times and brings hope for a better future!”

Changing Tree was founded in 2015 by Syed Idrees and Adarsh S Balipadi as a Creative + Tech Company. By combining creativity with technology, Changing Tree uses a unique approach to transform the way brands and industries approach and benefit from digital marketing.

Changing Tree, which has offices in Bangalore and Mumbai, serves brands around the globe, including Flipkart, Myntra, Udaan, Aster Hospitals, YLG India, and IRIS Fragrances.
