After tasting success in creating a category of portable music devices powered by its vast library and innovation under the Carvaan brand name, Saregama has now launched feature phones – also pre-loaded with songs from its library.
Saregama Carvaan Mobile, billed as the first ever feature phone with pre-loaded songs, comes with 1,500 evergreen Hindi songs and is priced between Rs.1,990 and Rs.2,490.
The dual-SIM phone offers a 2500 mAh battery, promises powerful speakers, and has bluetooth, in-built FM (wireless), 2GB free memory space, a torch and a digital camera.
The songs are categorised by artistes like Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle and Kishore Kumar, by moods like romance, sad and more.
The company is promising a year’s warranty on the phones.
This follows the launch of Saregama Carvaan Music Bar in the second half of 2021, pre-loaded with 500 songs, priced at just under Rs.7,000.
Saregama Carvaan, which was launched in 2017, clocked sales of 2 million units of the portable audio devices in January 2020. It saw a slump in sales in the ensuing Covid lockdowns before recovering in Q1 of FY 2022.
