CNN-News18 stays ahead of competition for 66 weeks in a row

According to the latest data released by the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC), CNN–News18 has consistently topped the English news genre for 66 weeks with a 35.3% market share. (Source: BARC India | MKT: India | TG: 2+ | Period: AVG Wk 16’22-29’23 |Market share%)

CNN-News18 has outperformed competitors such as Republic TV, Times Now, India Today TV and others. The market share of Republic TV stood at 29.6%, while Times Now and India Today acquired 23.5% and 6% market share respectively.

With a consistent lead over its competitors, CNN-News18 has been on the top spot since BARC resumed ratings for the English news genre in March 2022. The channel has been in the leadership position across prime time bands as well.

In order to maintain CNN-News18’s position far ahead of its competitors, the News18 network has made substantial investments in technology and editorial resources.

As an indisputable leader in TV and digital viewership, News18 Network’s 9 digital channels, available in 8 languages, garnered a remarkable 2.1 billion+ total views on YouTube and Facebook last month.
