Colors’ Bigg Boss gets 162 million viewers; accumulates 92 billion viewing minutes
Share Share ShareShare

MUMBAI: Hindi GEC Colors has announced that its reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ has attracted 162 million viewers and accumulating 92 billion viewing minutes. On social media it achieved a reach of 34.1 billion, 15 billion views, 2.3 billion conversations, and a 99 per cent share of voice.

Hosted by Dabangg host Salman Khan the season saw him pick favourites for the first time. Viewers witnessed how the mantras of Dil, Dimaag and Dum played out and that the broadcaster said made the game even more unpredictable. Khan announced the audience’s favourite and handed the winner’s trophy to Munawar Faruqui. The winner earned the prize money of Rs 50 lakhs and a new Hyundai Creta. Abhishek Kumar and Mannara Chopra were the first and second runners-up.

Initially contestants feared challenging his strategic moves and fandom. However, as the show unfolded, Ayesha unveiled a vulnerable side, exposing cracks in his armour. Despite acing tasks and handling controversies, he couldn’t escape the mockery for relying on Salman Khan’s feedback on ‘Weekend Ka Vaar’.

His friendship with Mannara, his first best friend in the house, sparked the creation of the season’s trending hashtag – #Munnara. They were often summoned to the confession room for conversations. Known for his humour and observations, he kept the entertainment alive, even when faced with scathing allegations by Ayesha. Family reinforcements came for him in the form of his sister, praising him as the family’s backbone, while fans stood firmly by his side.

His friendships with Ankita and Mannara started strong but soured over time, adding drama to an already rollercoaster ride. In a journey filled with dizzying highs and dramatic lows, he won hearts by telling his side of the story and promising sincerity to the audience.

We thank the ever-growing fanbase that the show has earned over the years for being part of its glorious legacy and making this edition a success. Congratulations to Munawar, for winning the season and the hearts of millions of viewers.”

Endemol Shine India founder, Banijay Asia Group CEO Deepak Dhar said, “As we bid adieu to the yet another electrifying season of BIGG BOSS, it’s evident that our viewers, who’ve cherished this show for 15 years, have formed an even stronger bond. This year, behind our lenses, contestants navigated the maze of challenges- dealing with interpersonal relations, sharing their stories of triumphs, resolving conflicts, and overcoming language barriers. We extend our best wishes to Munawar Faruqui the crowned champion, and to all contestants who are going home as much bigger names in the industry. Surviving in this house is no ordinary feat and they have brilliantly mastered it! We are proud to say that Bigg Boss remains the cultural heartbeat of television, concluding yet another blockbuster season with COLORS.”

“Kisi Ki Nafrat Ka Bahana Ban Gaya Hun, Kisi Ki Hansi Ka Sahara Ban Gaya Hun, Tootne Pe Unki Khwaish Hogi Poori, Sahi Kehte Hain Main Sitara Ban Gaya Hun!”

“I bow down to Bigg Boss for a life-altering journey that has made me what I am today. This victory is the best birthday gift and I dedicate it to the incredible fan base that stood by me throughout this emotionally loaded rollercoaster ride. This show felt like a lifetime spent with its challenges amplified to a degree I never knew I could tolerate. In this house, one cannot run away from issues and this season compelled me to face them with everything I have. I thank this show for celebrating my strengths and showcasing my personality to countless Indians worldwide. I’m grateful to Salman Khan and Karan Johar for lighting the way to victory for me. I dedicate this victory to my fans, and I promise to be a better person while entertaining them as long as I live. I can proudly say that trophy Dongri lekar jaa raha hoon!” said Faruqui.

In the conclusion to the season, Khan took center stage, joined by Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan, who graced the finale while promoting their upcoming film, ‘Shaitaan’. Madhuri Dixit and Suneil Shetty graced the stage, promoting the upcoming dance reality show, ‘Dance Deewane’. The reunion of ‘Hum Aapke Hai Kaun’ happened with Khan and Madhuri Dixit. Both Khan and Dixit recreated scenes from “Hum Aapke Hain Kaun”,

Bharti Singh infused the set with humor. She was joined by Sohail and Arbaaz Khan.

Moreover comedian Krushna Abhishek, transformed into various characters alongside Sudesh Berry. Karamm Rajpal and Tripti Mishra, promoted the show, ‘Qayaamat Se Qayaamat Tak’.
