Mumbai: Nazara Technologies Limited, a leading diversified gaming and sports media platform, has partnered with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) to unveil “gCommerce”, an innovative in-game monetization solution that integrates e-commerce directly into gaming experiences. This strategic collaboration aims to address the challenges faced by Indian game developers, particularly around low in-app purchase (IAP) conversion rates and underperforming ad revenue.

gCommerce leverages India’s booming e-commerce ecosystem, offering game developers a new, scalable revenue stream by embedding e-commerce capabilities within games. The platform utilizes an affiliate revenue-sharing model, allowing developers to earn commissions on successful transactions initiated by players through in-game purchases.

Reimagining Game Monetization in India

The integration of Nazara’s gaming platform and ONDC’s digital commerce network seeks to transform the game monetization landscape for Indian developers. Through this partnership, game creators can access a diverse range of products from over 10 categories, creating a rich in-game shopping experience that enhances player engagement while offering a seamless path to monetization.

ONDC’s open, interoperable network will enable gCommerce to connect with a wide variety of sellers, providing gamers with relevant and diverse purchasing options without leaving their gaming environment. This integration not only offers developers new revenue avenues but also enhances the user experience, allowing players to make informed purchases as part of their gameplay.
