Chennai: The first leg of the NEWS 7 TAMIL STEM QUIZ, presented by Vetrii IAS Study Circle, concluded on an inspiring note, energizing academic spaces across Tamil Nadu and igniting a passion for STEM education among +1 and +2 students preparing for NEET, JEE, and other competitive exams.
Commencing at Women’s Christian College (WCC) in Chennai, the quiz journeyed through Arunai Medical College & Hospitals in Tiruvannamalai, Jairam Arts and Science College in Salem, MIET Engineering College in Trichy, and Mangayarkarasi College of Arts & Science for Women in Madurai. The initiative welcomed students from Government, Matriculation, and CBSE schools, making it a vibrant and inclusive platform.
A key highlight was the exceptional performance by students from Government schools, who emerged victorious in some locations—breaking stereotypes and showcasing their academic prowess.
“The STEM Quiz is more than a competition. It is a movement to spark scientific thinking and ambition among students from all backgrounds. The success of the first leg shows the untapped potential in our youth, especially from rural and Government school settings,” said Raja, Chief Operating Officer, News 7 Tamil.

With overwhelming support from academic institutions and enthusiastic students, the first phase of the NEWS 7 TAMIL STEM QUIZ has laid a strong foundation for academic engagement through interactive learning.
The next leg of the quiz is set to travel through Coimbatore, Tirupur, Erode, Tirunelveli, and Tuticorin, continuing its mission to nurture scientific curiosity and academic confidence across Tamil Nadu.
