MUMBAI: Surf publication Tracks Magazine has officially expanded to India with the launch of Tracks India, in partnership with TT Group, and the inaugural Issue 001 is already out now.
The 50-year-old legacy publication, first founded in Australia in 1970, brings its signature mix of bold storytelling, photography, and deep cultural insight to India’s rapidly growing surf scene.
What’s Inside Tracks India Issue 001?
The debut issue dives into the heart of India’s coastline — spotlighting surfers, coastal communities, and untold stories from a region on the cusp of a surf revolution. Highlights include:
● A cover feature with Albe Falzon, founder of Tracks Magazine and filmmaker of Morning of the Earth
● Profiles of rising Indian surf talent
● Essays on ocean culture, sustainability, and surf history
● Features connecting India’s emerging surf identity with the global scene
“I’ve personally been engaged with this sport for over a decade and have seen it evolve tremendously. From sending our first-ever Indian surf team to compete in the Olympic qualifiers to hosting the WSL QS 3000 event on the east coast, we know India has the potential to cultivate and contribute immensely to the sport. This partnership with Tracks comes at the right time to showcase up-and-coming talent and inspire more people to engage with surfing,” said Arun Vasu, MD TT Group.
Tracks India says that it has established its presence across print, digital, and live events. The quarterly magazine launched its first edition in June, marking the beginning of a new chapter. Overseeing this launch, Mitali Joshi has been appointed as the Editor of Tracks India. Additionally, the editorial team of Tracks Australia will oversee the publication’s editorial direction, ensuring it maintains the magazine’s global standards while catering to the Indian surf community.
“As we launch the Tracks brand in India, we are excited to be part of one of the most significant and dynamic surf communities. We aim to accelerate surfing’s progression in the region by providing relevant support and knowledge,” said Simon Haskell, CEO Tracks Media.
Tracks India will be present at the Asian Surfing Championship at Mahabalipuram, Chennai. Visitors can meet the editorial team, pick up a copy of the first issue, and engage with the surf community. The booth will serve as a space for surf fans, athletes, and creatives to connect, collaborate, and celebrate India’s coastal culture.
