Xiaomi India rebrands Redmi with new logo to reflect Gen-Z aspirations

Bangalore: Xiaomi India today announced a bold new chapter in the journey of its iconic Redmi brand with the unveiling of a refreshed identity and updated logo. This rebranding marks a significant milestone as Redmi completes over a decade in India, and aligns itself with the evolving aspirations of a new generation of tech-savvy, value-driven Indian users.

Since its launch in India in 2014, Redmi has played a pivotal role in democratizing technology, empowering millions with cutting-edge innovation at accessible prices. With over 220 million Redmi devices sold in India and more than 1.1 billion Redmi smartphones shipped globally, the brand has earned a reputation for delivering reliable performance and long-term value.

The new identity reflects Redmi’s evolution alongside its users—especially a young, resilient generation that is shaping its future with ambition and self-awareness.

Sudhin Mathur, Chief Operating Officer at Xiaomi India, said, “Redmi has always stood for making the impossible possible. Over the past decade, we were often the first smartphone for millions of Indians. Their trust and feedback shaped our path. Today, those users have grown, and so have we. This identity transformation goes beyond visual aesthetics—it is a signal of deeper alignment with India’s growing and maturing consumer base. The updated branding aims to communicate authenticity, clarity, and long-term commitment to India’s dynamic youth.

Over the years, Redmi has consistently introduced category-defining innovations that have reshaped the Indian smartphone landscape. From the legendary Redmi Note 4 to the game-changing Redmi Note 10 series, and more recently, Redmi 12 5G and Redmi 13 5G, the brand has driven adoption of advanced technologies like 5G across the mainstream market. The launch of the Redmi Note 14 5G Series further cemented this legacy.

Now, with the much-anticipated launch of the Redmi 15 on August 19, 2025, Xiaomi India is set to usher in a new era that reflects Redmi’s renewed identity, product innovation, and long-term vision for growth.
