Mumbai: redBus, an online bus ticketing platform, has launched a new Maharashtra-focused advertising campaign titled Majhi bus, manjhe redBus, celebrating the state’s deep-rooted bus travel culture. As Maharashtra remains the largest state for bus travel on redBus, the campaign spotlights the brand’s widespread connectivity, affordability, and strong understanding of regional travel preferences.
The campaign captures Maharashtra’s lively travel spirit through humorous, slice-of-life storytelling. The ad showcases redBus’ core strengths—wide route connectivity and affordable ticketing—while addressing the diverse needs of Maharashtrian travellers, from discounts to robust network coverage across the state.
At the heart of the Majhi bus, manjhe redBus campaign are everyday characters like Shinde Kaku and Aaba, who humorously deliver a deeper message: redBus is the ultimate travel app for all Maharashtrians. Through these witty narratives, the films highlight how redBus makes exploring destinations from Wai to Wani and Mumbai to Malvan simple, reliable, and cost-effective.
With this initiative, redBus strengthens its commitment to region-led storytelling, using culturally rooted humour and local insights to communicate product features that matter most—affordability, convenience, and reach. The films are being promoted across YouTube, Meta platforms, JioHotstar, Spotify, and leading Marathi television channels including Star Pravah, Zee Marathi, Sony Marathi, and Lokmat 18 News. In addition, auto branding activations will bring these relatable travel stories into everyday public spaces across the state.
A redBus spokesperson commented, “Maharashtra is one of the largest states for bus travel in the country and a key state in our overall strategy. redBus has a deep understanding of the needs of Maharashtrian bus travellers and through Majhi bus, manjhe redBus, we wanted to speak directly to audiences in their own lingo, their own idioms.
The campaign is a step forward in redBus’ ongoing regionification journey, using humour and local insights to connect more deeply with travellers. This ad campaign underlines how redBus’ affordability, simple booking experience, and extensive network make it the preferred travel partner across the state.”
The Majhi bus, manjhe redBus campaign will continue to roll out with additional ad films featuring new characters and narratives celebrating Maharashtra’s unique travel culture.
The ad series captures the humour and warmth of everyday Maharashtra through relatable Marathi moments. In “Wide Connectivity,” a casual roadside chat turns into a playful nod to redBus’ far-reaching presence, reinforcing the message: “Majhi bus, manjhe redBus.” In “Affordable Buses,” a humorous misunderstanding—where friends mishear “Aaba gele” as “Father went travelling”—highlights redBus’s swasta ani masta (affordable and fun) travel promise. Each film uses local humour to position redBus as an integral part of the state’s travel ecosystem, connecting people, places, and stories while remaining accessible and proudly local.
