Razorpay launches “Get Paid, Not Played” campaign to remove friction in India’s cross-border payments ecosystem
Share Share ShareShare

Bengaluru: Razorpay, a full-stack payments and banking platform for businesses, has unveiled its latest cross-border payments campaign, “Get Paid, Not Played,” aimed at spotlighting the hidden fees, opaque processes, and operational friction faced by global ecommerce exporters, SaaS firms, agencies, and freelancers when receiving international payments.

As India moves closer to its US$1 trillion export ambition, the gap between global opportunity and payment infrastructure has become increasingly evident. While India exported over US$825 billion in goods and services last year and is on track to cross the US$1T mark by FY26, exporters—from freelancers in Ahmedabad to design studios in Pune—continue to grapple with outdated and cumbersome international payment systems.

Hidden fees eat into margins, delayed settlements disrupt cash flows, and complex documentation such as FIRC, shipping bills, and IEC place unnecessary burdens on lean teams. Razorpay’s new campaign shines a light on these challenges and reinforces the need for a transparent, predictable payments experience, especially for global-first Indian businesses.

Conceptualised and crafted by Razorpay’s in-house team using AI, “Get Paid, Not Played” directly addresses these industry-wide pain points while highlighting Razorpay’s expanded international payments suite. The platform enables Indian sellers and freelancers to get paid like locals across global markets through global cards, Apple Pay, or bank transfers in 130+ currencies including USD, GBP, and EUR.

Key features include:

  • Transparent pricing for international cards and global bank transfers (1% for bank transfers, up to 3% for cards)
  • Timely INR settlements within 24 hours to eliminate cash-flow uncertainty
  • Over 90% success rates powered by Razorpay’s in-house card switch and intelligent routing
  • Automated compliance to simplify FIRC, IEC, and shipping-bill workflows while ensuring adherence to RBI and FEMA norms

Commenting on the campaign launch, Apuarv Sethi, Senior VP of Marketing at Razorpay, said, “Behind India’s surge on the global stage lies a simple truth: receiving an international payment is still far harder than it should be. What struck us is how much emotional and financial fatigue sits behind something this fundamental. ‘Get Paid, Not Played’ was born from that reality, the late nights, the lost income, the helplessness of not knowing where your money went. This campaign is a promise that we’re here to fix that, so their ambition doesn’t get undercut by systems that aren’t built for them.”

Razorpay believes India’s next growth chapter will be written by businesses serving global customers from every corner of the country. With transparent pricing, faster settlements, intelligent routing, and automated compliance, Razorpay aims to ensure that cross-border payments become a catalyst—not a constraint—in India’s global expansion story.
