MILKMAID honors the nation’s love for Kheer on World Kheer Day

Mumbai: Nestlé MILKMAID, a brand synonymous with indulgent desserts, today announced the celebration of World Kheer Day on 30 November, honoring the iconic Indian dessert that has been a part of households for generations.

Kheer, a dessert that unites India despite regional differences in recipes and ingredients, continues to evoke warmth, nostalgia, and togetherness. From festivals and family celebrations to everyday indulgences, kheer remains a symbol of shared joy. MILKMAID has played a key role in keeping this tradition alive, making it simple and convenient for every home.

Across India, kheer takes on varied names and forms, yet carries a universal emotional connect: in the North, the creamy elegance of rice kheer; sabudana kheer on fasting days; sheer khurma during Eid; sheviyanchi kheer in Maharashtra; payesh in Bengal; kheeri in Odisha; and payasam in the South, from semiya to palada. While ingredients and names differ, the sentiment remains constant – a shared sweetness across the nation.

With over 100 years of heritage in making desserts easy and delicious, Nestlé MILKMAID encourages families to celebrate World Kheer Day at home. The brand provides recipes and preparation ideas on its website, enabling everyone to enjoy this cherished dessert effortlessly.
