Mumbai: Apple has unveiled a new film to commemorate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, reaffirming its long-standing belief that “the best technology is designed with everyone in mind.” The film spotlights how students with disabilities rely on Apple devices and built-in accessibility features to navigate their daily lives and fully participate in the college experience.
Apple emphasises that education extends far beyond academics. For students with disabilities, the ability to move around campus, learn new skills, connect with friends, and engage in extracurricular life is made possible through intuitive and inclusive technology.
The new film showcases an array of accessibility features across the Apple ecosystem — including VoiceOver, Magnifier on Mac, Braille Access, AssistiveTouch on Apple Watch and iPad, Accessibility Reader, Sound & Name Recognition, and Live Captions. These tools empower students to study, socialize, create, and succeed on their own terms.
The heart of the film is a celebratory musical sequence featuring Deaf and disabled students from across the world. The number is written and produced by Tony Award–winning composer Tim Minchin, adding a powerful creative layer to the message of inclusion. The film is directed by Kim Gehrig, who returns after helming Apple’s Emmy Award–winning accessibility short The Greatest in 2022.
Apple has further launched a dedicated landing page to mark the occasion, encouraging audiences to explore its suite of accessibility tools and join the celebration.
