Ahmedabad: Hyundai Motor Company has announced a global partnership with the International Cricket Council (ICC), becoming a Premier Partner for six major ICC tournaments across men’s and women’s cricket during the 2026–2027 cycle. The association marks a significant milestone in Hyundai Motor’s global sports strategy, with cricket taking centre stage as a key engagement platform in high-growth and high-impact markets.
As part of the agreement, Hyundai Motor secures exclusive rights and branding opportunities across the ICC’s international cricket calendar, including the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027. The Premier Partner status enables Hyundai to participate in iconic matchday moments such as the coin toss, gain prominent in-stadium visibility, and curate bespoke fan engagement experiences designed to enhance the overall spectator journey.
The partnership reinforces Hyundai Motor’s commitment to forging deeper connections with global audiences through shared passions, while strengthening its presence in cricket-dominant regions such as India, where the sport holds immense cultural significance. Hyundai Motor’s global subsidiaries will collaborate closely to activate the partnership, leveraging brand-building opportunities and delivering innovative fan experiences across physical and digital platforms.

Commenting on the partnership, José Muñoz, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company, said, “Cricket and Hyundai share a relentless drive to improve and the resilience to rise to every challenge. We are honored to partner with the ICC and connect with over two billion passionate fans worldwide. In key markets like India, where cricket is a way of life, this partnership deepens our connection with the customers and communities who inspire everything we do. We look forward to creating memorable experiences together at these iconic tournaments.”

Welcoming Hyundai Motor as a Premier Partner, Jay Shah, ICC Chairman, said, “Cricket is among the world’s most popular sports, with over two billion fans whose passion is especially evident during ICC’s marquee events. These global events offer an excellent opportunity to engage fans through innovative digital and in-stadium integrations. We welcome Hyundai as a Premier Partner and look forward to delivering outstanding events together. Hyundai is a global brand that has long supported sports, and we look forward to maximizing our combined strengths at these events.”
The partnership marks Hyundai Motor’s return to ICC cricket, following its earlier collaboration with the governing body between 2011 and 2015. Under the renewed association, fans attending ICC events can expect immersive experiences through interactive fan zones, vehicle displays, and digital engagement initiatives that showcase Hyundai’s innovation-led brand approach.
The deal spans multiple prestigious ICC tournaments across formats and geographies, hosted in some of the world’s most passionate cricket-playing nations. With cricket commanding an estimated global audience of over two billion, the partnership aligns seamlessly with Hyundai Motor’s strategy of associating with culturally significant sports to drive brand relevance and long-term engagement.
The announcement was made at a ceremony held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, attended by senior representatives from Hyundai Motor and the ICC.

Speaking on the importance of the partnership for the Indian market, Tarun Garg, Managing Director & CEO designate, Hyundai Motor India Limited, said, “This partnership reflects Hyundai’s strong commitment to India and growing importance of India market in Hyundai’s global operations. We look forward to some thrilling cricketing action and are ready with a 360-degree communication approach across PR, digital, experiential and dealerships to maximize this opportunity across the country.”
With this strategic alliance, Hyundai Motor aims to harness the unparalleled reach and emotional connect of cricket to deepen brand affinity, engage fans globally, and reinforce its position as a leading mobility brand on the world sporting stage.
