Ranchi: SG Pipers has unveiled “Danka Baja Re”, its official campaign film for the season, marking a strategic step towards building a unified and recognisable team identity. The music-driven film brings together players, coaches, and support staff, highlighting the collective spirit of the SG Pipers franchise.
Designed as a fun and energetic visual narrative, the campaign debuts with the women’s team, coinciding with the commencement of the Women’s Tournament, and will be followed by a dedicated version featuring the men’s squad.
Structured around the rhythm and lyrics of the campaign song, Danka Baja Re blends individual player moments with hockey skill sequences and powerful group visuals. The film was conceptualised with inputs from Navneet Kaur, Captain, SG Pipers, furthering the vision of Sanjay Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director, APL Apollo Tubes Ltd, to spotlight players individually while deepening fan connection with the team.
Speaking about her involvement, Navneet Kaur, Captain, SG Pipers, said, “It was very good. It was different. I don’t think any team has made a video like this. The best thing was that every player was shown in it. As a team, it is important that every player and staff is in the video. It shows the spirit of a team, that we are united. I think that was the best thing in this video. We all together decided where each player will come, what speed can come in running, which skill, which shot. That was a good experience, it was fun. And the video that was made in the end, I enjoyed watching that.”
She further added, “And that is how our team is united. I would like to thank our Chairman and Managing Director, Sanjay Gupta Sir, for his vision. He genuinely cares about women’s hockey and believes in giving players individual visibility. Highlighting players beyond the game is an important and much-needed step. It’s good to see this happening, and I hope the support for women’s hockey continues.”
Sharing her perspective on the campaign, Sofie Gierts, Head Coach, SG Pipers, said, “It was a pleasant surprise. It is very well done by the team. To me, this shows a very diverse group of women living their dream, strong, confident, and supported by each other. The visibility shown in this video is very powerful and backed by a very diverse staff. Women working together can be very powerful.”
The campaign is part of SG Pipers’ broader effort to strengthen fan engagement through authentic storytelling, including individual player profiles that showcase personal journeys, aspirations, and lives beyond the sport. Shot across training sessions and match days, the film concludes with a powerful sequence symbolising unity, purpose, and shared ambition.
With Danka Baja Re, SG Pipers reinforces its commitment to celebrating players, team culture, and the evolving energy of modern hockey.
