Mumbai: Thanigasalam Murugadass has joined Zee Studios as Associate Director – Marketing (South). He moves into the role after serving as Associate Director at ZEE5, where he was associated with the platform since 2022.
In his new role, Thanigasalam will focus on driving marketing strategy for theatrical and studio-led film releases, with an emphasis on audience-first storytelling, brand building, and integrated campaigns spanning digital, media, and on-ground touchpoints. He will work closely with creative, distribution, and business teams to build scalable, culturally relevant marketing frameworks that help move stories from screens to cinemas.
Announcing his new role on LinkedIn, Thanigasalam shared, “New year. New chapter. Excited to begin my new role as Associate Director – Marketing (South) at Zee Studios.
Starting my career in print and spending 14+ years working across platforms, formats, and audiences—including a deeply enriching last phase at ZEE5 – this move feels like a full-circle moment, bringing together learnings from across media.
As I step into studio and theatrical marketing, my focus will be on driving integrated, audience-first strategies and campaigns that celebrate cinema and bring powerful stories to the big screen.”
Prior to his stint at ZEE5, Thanigasalam has worked with several leading organisations including Viacom18 Media Private Limited, TIMES OOH, Metro Multimedia India, and Bennett Coleman and Co. Ltd (Times Group). He began his career as an Account Executive at Bennett Coleman and Co. Ltd (Times Group) in 2011.
With over 14 years of experience across media platforms, Thanigasalam brings expertise in brand strategy, digital marketing, go-to-market strategy, data analytics, public relations, strategic thinking, sales operations, and integrated marketing. His appointment comes as Zee Studios continues to sharpen its focus on building strong, audience-centric marketing narratives for cinema across the South.
